Breanish Tweed

Breanish Tweed is the finest of lightweight tweeds. We weave to order, producing cloth made of shetland wool, lambswool and cashmere.  

All our cloth is single width (approx 75cm wide) and hand woven on a hattersley loom. 

OUR TWEEDS

10oz shetland  This is the cloth Breanish Tweed are famous for. 

9oz lambswool. 

9oz cashmere. We use the best Scottish cashmere yarn to make this cloth.

13oz cheviot. For something just a little heavier than the shetland, using a different colour palette. 

17 oz shetland. A heavier shetland which is especially suitable for overcoats.

50/50 shetland/cashmere - our most popular mix.

We can mix any of the above yarns, shetland/cashmere/lambswool. We can also use silk (UK sourced) in a mix.

We are continually experimenting with new high quality yarns. (If you can shear it, we can weave it.)
