About Breanish Tweed

Breanish Tweed have won the Balvenie Masters of Craft Awards for textiles  2011. It is a great honour for us to receive this award and it is testament to the skill of our weavers - Karin Slater, Donald John 'Zebo' Macleod, Murdo Smith and Angus Morrison. We would  like to thank everyone else who has helped us along the way, there are a lot of people who have given of their time and expertise and for this we are very grateful.

About Breanish

Breanish Tweed is a family business based on the Island of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. We hand weave lightweight tweed - shetland wool, lambswool and cashmere. From our mill on the island we supply cloth to the best bespoke tailors and fashion houses in the world - from Savile Row to 5th Avenue, from Vienna to Tokyo.

We are the fourth generation of a weaving family.

Breanish Tweed is considered to be the finest tweed available - exclusive, hand woven by skilled craftsmen, with a unique range of designs, qualities and colours. Many of our customers collect our cloths is the same way they do wine - laying down bolts for future generation. Many of our cloths are unique, as no-one else handweaves using luxury fibres such as cashmere and vicuna.
